Top 10 Very Canadian Writing Awards & Recognitions

After an autologous interview with the previous winners, I have identified the Top 10 "Very Canadian" Writing Awards and Recognitions using the following criteria:

  

A "Very Canadian" Award or Recogntion must

• be slightly awkward and apologetic;
• suggest that the recipient is a work-in-progress; and
• carry no monetary award or hint that a career in writing is possible.

  

(1)    The Last and Least Deserving CBC Literary Award

(2)    Finalist–Not Loser - Local Canadian Authors Contest

(3)    Toastmasters – Only-Lightly-Related-to-Writing Award

(4)     Alumnus-Who-Got-Published Award

(5)     Award for Science not Literature

(6)     Awards for the Subject of the Book – Not Author

(7)     No-Cigar Runner-up Stuff

(8)     Awards for Other Attendees at a Book Launch

(9)     Something - Anything – Foreign Recognition

(10)  “World’s Best Daydreamer” Imaginary Awards
