Travel Advisory - 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

The Government of Castoria’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Anxiety and Apprehension is advising specific  professional and social groups against all travel to Brazil during and around the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to the deteriorating security situation.

Those cited and currently in Brazil should leave by commercial or other means as soon as possible.  Travellers are advised as well that many airlines have fully booked flights to and from Brazil, and crowded circumstances exist in the vicinity of the airports in cities throughout the South American country.

The targeted groups in the greatest immediate danger are as follows:

-          International referees

-          Fake injury specialists

-          Protestors – unhappy with money spent on World Cup

-          Stadium construction workers

-          And ticket takers at Maracanã matches

Castorian citizens remaining in Brazil to serve in these functions despite this warning should limit their movements and keep abreast of the latest developments.  They are also advised to ensure that their travel documents are up to date and to register as well as to carefully follow messages issued through the Department of Foreign Affairs Anxiety and Apprehension service.
